I disagree in the strongest possible terms. How does Newt do any harm in this NEW dynamic of politics? His past affairs? Number of wives? The fact that he basically divorced his previous wife while she was on her death bed?
All that went out the window when Bill Clinton was Governor and culminated with Monica and later with the fact that Bill was taken on the pedophiles private jet to the island of preteen nubile girls, but left his SS detail behind. No, this is no longer any sort of traditional campaign.
Newt has several important characteristics and experiences that qualify him more than the others.
He's the first Republican (probably the first politician period) to actually balance a real budget in over 40 years at the time he did it. He is an incredibly adept debater. I'd pay money to watch him EVISCERATE any opponent Hillary chooses. He is both an ultimate insider for his years in the Congress and he knows all the players on both sides of the aisles and he is an ultimate outsider for the time he has spent outside the beltway. He is a history teacher (like me, LOL) and he is a successful author. He is a brilliant tactician and knows long range strategy as well.
Newt has known Donald a long time. They get along well together and more importantly, Newt isn't afraid of Trump and won't hesitate to tell him in the bluntness that is the style of a truly successful businessman that he is totally FUBAR. Google that one. I can't define it here. Only Newt can maneuver their way through the snakes nest that is the official and unofficial side of DC.
Finally, this is reality born of history gripped by evil in a fallen world: Newt Gingrich is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. How deep he is into that group of globalists I don't know. But the history is THIS: No U.S. President has won the office without being a member himself or having someone on the ticket that is a member. Hillary, Obama and Biden are all members. I don't think Trump is a member. Reagan wasn't but Bush Sr was and he was a Skull & Bonesman too. So was Junior.
Politics. It's a filthy dirty game and if you want to win, you've gotta learn to low crawl through the mud. That's just the way it is.
Thank you for your reply. I agree that Newt has many admirable qualities. I will reply more fully later, but bottom line, I just think his electability will seriously hurt the ticket....I think the average Trump voter likely has a very low favorability for Newt. I’ll reply again more completely later, but I do appreciate the dialogue... :)
