Urbana, IL — If you decide to desecrate an American flag and share photos of your big moment on social media, beware the wrath of the internet.
A 22-year-old Illinois man learned that lesson after setting a flag on fire and sharing photos on his Facebook page. Bryton Mellott paired the photos with statements about violence and race in the U.S., according to a Forbes report.
"I am not proud to be an American. In this moment, being proud of my country is to ignore the atrocities committed against people of color, people living in poverty, people who identify as women, and against my own queer community on a daily basis,” Mellott wrote, as reported by Forbes.
Shortly after the pic went up, callers began flooding the Urbana police department around 7:30 a.m., urging police to investigate Mellott and his page. The calls ranged from concerns over his posts, to threats against both Mellott and his employer, Walmart. Police became concerned he was putting others at risk. They spoke with Mellott about exercising his freedom of speech, but warned that he could be endangering people other than himself, reports the News-Gazette.
Mellott decided to keep it up, so out came the cuffs. Just before 10 a.m., he was booked into the county jail, on charges of flag desecration, a class four felony in Illinois, and disorderly conduct.
Police said it's the first time in nearly 30 years they've had to use the flag desecration statute.
Getting lots of extra passengers for that ride to drop Bergdahl back in the desert...

I’ve always been of the “I may not agree with you, but I’ll defend to the death your right to speak,” camp.
But the left doesn’t reciprocate. They shut us down every chance they get. They don’t think that we have the right to speak because they don’t like what we say. They shut down conservative speakers at colleges. They rip down signs. They shut down highways to prevent a private gathering. There is NO mutual respect.
For that reason, I’ve recently changed my mind.
Now I sit back and smile.

Who knew that flag desecration would be a class four felony in hard Leftist Illinois?? Yet, with Obama still in complete control, all his little minorities groupies are sure they are in the right with all their petty complaints. I sure hope they all get a rude awakening this fall and then in January.
SCOTUS ruled long time ago that burning the flag was 1st Amendment protected.

Americans who are proud of our country need to start burning the rainbow flag. It’s long overdue.
I hope the next POTUS eases the rules by which disgruntled Americans can leave the US, renounce their citizenship and take another countries’ if offered.
There are so many liberals, leftists, hotheads, malcontents, mentally ill, socialists, communists, and others who often declare their intent to leave the US, that it is downright unfair that it is difficult and time consuming for them to do so.
I’m even supportive to the idea of crowd sourcing their departure.
