Japan is smart as well. Just when I thought the whole world had gone mad. Of course the Islamists are invading every other country with not even a hidden agenda. This is a new era.

When prop (which number was it?) 187? was up for referendum, I remember standing in a crowded farmers market and a clipboard carrier came up and asked me about it, and I was able to say, loudly, “Of course it should pass and everything should be in English. I went to live in Switzerland without knowing either the language or the local dialect and after 6 years I was fluent in BOTH. I worked hard and learned the languages. I do not think Spanish speaking immigrants are stupid. They can do it too, like I did.”
We have been so stupid, thinking immigrants cannot learn our language and allowing them to have everything in their own. Whaaaaaaat? It was wrong. When I go into Target and see signs like COSMETICS / COSMETICAS I want to puke. If you can’t figure that one out, you don’t belong on our freeways.
I’ve been there. Some of you probably too. In a country, don’t speak the language, and you have to learn things. It’s a little tough. But if you try, you can do it. I was so proud after two years when I could say chääschüüechli (little savory cheese pies sold from kiosks like at train stations) so I didn’t just have to point and say “one of those, please.”
