Back in my Freshman year in High School my US History teacher made us all watch the horror of the films made of the Death Camps documented by the Nazis and the US Forces that liberated them. I believe he was part of an Army unit that liberated a camp and wanted to ensure our generation never forgot about the horrors of WWII he lived through. It appears General Eisenhower was right to have the Death Camps documented before some SOB said it never happened.
Fun fact: Immediately after WW2 Elie raped German civilian women nightly.
