If I remember my history, Hitler did not want or like the assault rifle. The army loved it, so the secretly ordered lots of them behind Hitler’s back.
Hitler was surprised when he later met with soldiers from the Eastern Front and asked what equipment they really needed and they wanted MORE of these assault rifles. Hitler was surprised to find they had been armed with them without his knowledge.
I WANT ONE! PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE SET UP A “GO FUND ME” SITE SO I CAN HAVE ONE!;-D
***those Stg-44s survived and where they’d been over the past seventy years.***
I saw a photo about ten years on the internet of a burned shed in SE ASIA. Around the shed were dozens of ruined Thompson SMGs.
***Boy them Krauts sure could march, huh?***
Ever notice that the more belligerent the nation the more the strut in their marching.
No, Hitler did like the weapon. He gave it the name.
Yeah, The Russians, the Chinese. But no body did like the Krauts.
Agreed. I wish that someone would go about making that distinction (that a true “assault rifle” is a select fire rifle) in such a way as it will actually “stick” with the public at large. Unfortunately, this deliberate piece of disinformation disseminated widely over such a long period of time, (they’ve been using the terms “assault weapon” and “assault rifle” to describe semi-auto civilian look-alikes since the 1980’s) has served its intended purpose by the purveyors of the deception—to blur the distinction between semi and fully automatic weapons in the public consciousness. It reminds me of how the U.S Information Agency used to chase around disinformation that was expertly spread across the globe by the Soviets; denials and correct information never seem to catch up with, or dispel, the original impact of the lies. Therefore, the term “assault rifle” has so much become part of the popular lexicon that even people who should know better employ the misnomer. They should be working hard to correct this obviously calculated prevarication but, strangely, aren’t. I certainly have tried over the years to explain the difference between civilian semi-auto and true “assault rifles,” but to those who don’t know care which is the business end of a rifle and which is the buttplate, it has been largely breath wasted. How I despise the Leftist press and what they do. They have no interest in fact, truth, or maintaining even a trace of personal or collective integrity or accountability. It never ceases to amaze me that, as members of a profession that is supposed to inform people of the facts, that they lie with such apparent consistency, ease, and complete lack of conscience.
