Lynch to Accept F.B.I. Recommendations in Clinton Email Inquiry, Official Says
NYT ^ | July 1, 2016 | Matt Apuzzo

Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch plans to announce on Friday that she will accept whatever recommendation career prosecutors and the F.B.I. director make about whether to bring charges related to Hillary Clinton’s personal email server, a Justice Department official said. Her decision removes the possibility that a political appointee will overrule investigators in the case.

The Justice Department had been moving toward such an arrangement for months — officials said in April that it was being considered — but a private meeting between Ms. Lynch and former President Bill Clinton this week set off a political furor and made the decision all but inevitable.

Republicans said the meeting, which took place at the Phoenix airport, had compromised the independence of the investigation as the F.B.I. was winding it down. Some called for Ms. Lynch to recuse herself, but she did not take herself off the case — one that could influence a presidential election.

Ms. Lynch plans to discuss the matter at a conference in Aspen, Colo., on Friday. The Justice Department declined to comment. The official who confirmed the discussion did so on the condition of anonymity because the internal decision-making process is normally kept confidential.

That’s simple enough to fix, Lynch and 0bama will force the FBI to say that there is no indictable offense committed, just mistakes in judgment, but nothing of a criminal nature.

Watch out: The FBI could very well make that recommendation this evening - a Friday before a long holiday weekend. That seems to be the SOP of this administration.

I want both Loretta under oath in front of the House crime committee and Bill under oath in front of the Senate crime committee at the same time answering the same questions.

Freeper Woodman posted: my first thought was maybe this meeting was a setup for the Clinton's. Now Obama can go hands-off to erase any conflict of interest questions. The problem is, does this mean the FBI will or Will Not recommend an indictment?

I believe Woodman nailed it b/c they did make a show of the meeting——did not even try to hide it from the public.

Seems purposeful that t wo high profile attorneys would do something like that.....unless there was a sub rosa reason. Her saying she’ll back off was strange, as well...made everyone think Obama came down hard on her.

Yup, one can safely conclude.....they’re all in collusion to save Hillary’s ***.

in the plane Bubba told her what’s up, then she went to her career prosecutor subordinates, told them in turn was up.

then Friday she announced she is letting Hillary off.

The meeting had nothing to do with Hillary....it was all about Bill protecting himself and Chelsea......this was about the release of State Department emails regardind the foundation.....

Bill just threw Hillary under the bus........

Lynch then just waited a day to effectively recuse herself from Hillary for the optics when it was never about Hillary....

Lynch looks good, Bill looks like the concerned husband......

Hillary is screwed....

This whole thing stinks, there is NO mention of the Clinton foundation, there has been commentary for months that the investigation has expanded into that.
We go knows how long that will take,Lynch knows whether it will be before the election.
I don’t trust these lying scumbags one bit.
I’m sure bubba told Lynch,my grandchildren don’t want to visit their grandma in prison

It goes without saying that we should always be wary of any move made by this administration but, that said, this should be greeted as good news indeed.

Loretta Lynch was driven by the force of public opinion to remove at least one obstacles to bringing Hillary Clinton to justice, her own prerogatives to fail to move an indictment if recommended by the FBI. There still remains the options of the president potentially pardoning Hillary and the possibility that the FBI will fail to recommend prosecution. I believe that the FBI is in the same public-relations box that Loretta Lynch found herself in when even Democrat politicians abandoned the Clintons on this egregious breach of propriety. The head of the FBI will now face the same defections in his own ranks if he fails to recommend prosecution. There have long been leaked rumors of open revolt in the ranks of the FBI should the attorney general fail to move their recommendations, one cannot believe that the same reaction would not be applied to the head of the agency if he fails to conform to the evidence.

I believe that the FBI will so recommend, the question becomes when the recommendation will come down, whether before or after the convention or, indeed, before or after the election.

The remaining question is the exercise of pardon by Obama. That depends on the goods that Hillary and Bill might or might not have on the Bamster.

This is good news because it moves the decision-making power away from a political appointee of this corrupt administration to less corrupt, hopefully uncorrupted, career FBI agents and a highly regarded head of the FBI.

Whatever the real deal is one thing is certain it is grabbing headlines that are not good for the Clintons

But then it is the 4th of July Weekend and probably designed for minimum impact

The problem of all the possible scenarios to the Machevallian plot twists is that Trump has a good chance to become President if the elite don't kill him first. This means that all of this fair game under his Presidency. He can look at ALL the docs, can't he?

If that reporter ,who was on with O’Reilly last night, hadn’t been in the area none of this would be public. These arrogant people never expected to be outed.

Gee, a leak to the NY Times. This means the FBI will issue a criminal referral for a couple of staffers, say that Hillary acted inappropriately but not criminally, and The Beast goes to her coronation in Philadelphia.

Wikileaks is going to hand out more emails. I wonder if that plays a part in this at all.

She said she will accept the recommendation; but, notice she didn’t say she will “follow” it. Smoke and mirrors.

Precisely, and it’s worth nothing that he is a reporter for the ABC affiliate in Phoenix—a local guy. I didn’t see the segment and learn how he discovered Clinton visited Lynch on her DOJ jet, but it’s fair to say if this tip had been given to a “reporter” from one of the national media outlets, it would have died a quick death.

Here’s a research project I’d hope the Phoenix reporter would take on: check travel logs and see if Clinton and Lynch crossed paths at any other airports in recent months. This “meeting” had the air of a “seal the deal” gathering—all the preliminary work had been accomplished well before. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit to discover that Clinton and Lynch have met on the tarmac before.
