Trump wants sore-loser rule to ban Republicans who broke support pledge...
Daily Mail ^ | 6/30/2016 | Nikki Schwab

Donald Trump now wants those 'sore losers' who haven't endorsed him yet to be punished.

At a campaign appearance yesterday in Bangor, Maine, the presumptive Republican nominee railed against his former rivals who didn't hold up their end of the Republican National Committee's pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee.

'They broke their word and in my opinion they should never be allowed to run for public office again because what they did is disgraceful,' Trump told the crowd.

Trump said had he lost he 'would have honored the pledge.'

'It's amazing what can happen when you lose, it's amazing what can happen when you lose,' Trump said, according to CNN.

Out of the 16 candidates who ran for president against Trump, nine have now publicly expressed support for Trump while another seven Republicans are holding out.

Most notably – Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, the last two Republican rivals Trump faced off against in the primaries.

Neither Cruz nor Kasich have endorsed their party's presumptive nominee, as they both had expected a contested convention and then a delegate fight in Cleveland.

Instead, Trump neatly beat them both in the Indiana primary on May 3, with Cruz dropping out that night and then Kasich pulling out the day after.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who was leading in the Iowa polls early on, but whose campaign never really got off the ground, is another endorsement hold-out who's expected to play a large role in the Republican Party for years to come.

WHO HASN'T ENDORSED DONALD TRUMP?

Sen. Ted Cruz

Gov. John Kasich

Gov. Jeb Bush

Gov. Scott Walker

Gov. George Pataki

Sen. Lindsey Graham

Carly Fiorina

banning them from the convention and holding the possibility of banning them from running as a republican on the national level ie representative or senate if they support or endorse anyone other then the nominee is enough for me......I thought getting a pledge of support stupid and short sighted at the time. I find it interesting that Donald trump and Paul Ryan were the only ones that said no to it but later agreed. I think that Trump and Paul Ryan were the only ones that thought about having to endorse a politician that they did not like. in the end both Donald Trump and Paul Ryan sighed the pledge and I believe that if bush had won trump would of supported the nomine and would of kept quiet about any misgivings.

That’s one reason I’d like to see Trump pick a total outsider for VP.

Thereby Trump says to the GOPe, “F you guys. I’m going to win the presidency without you, and then I’m coming for you.”

I’m not sure it helps Trump beat Hillary in any way. It does however, go a long way towards destroying the political careers of Bush, Cruz, etc.

They are incredibly stupid.

I have talked to more Republicans who now are really pissed at what the Bush family has done to the Republican Party for decades

Ted Cruz has lost a ton of support in Texas and the GOP as Trump showed he never was a outsider but a showboat

I doubt Linda Graham will run again but he would lose if he did.

There is a very simple and straightforward way to deal with this.

Presuming that come January 2017, President Trump takes office, he instructs whoever he determines will be the Chairman of the RNC to inform the turncoats in question that they are being stripped of their membership in the Republican Party, they will NOT receive ANY party funds or support whatsoever, their precious little (R)’s after their names will be changed to (I)’s, or they can just go on and join up with the ‘RATS if that is truly their calling. It should be made clear that they will be persona non grata at the White House or any other Trump Administration functions. Their primary opponents should be fully funded and encouraged.

This sort of blatant arrogance and disloyalty cannot go unpunished. There must be consequences for their political perfidy. Trump needs to issue a blanket *YOU’RE FIRED* to all of those crap weasels.

Is the one for Cruz available? Or does he have it stored in Canada?

Is Cruz voting for Hillary or the green party candidate?

No. Trudeau.

The pledge is to the nominee....after the voting at the convention....not the presumptive nominee.

That's the sort of lawyer-like answer that made Cruz so darn popular.

I hope he doesn't have but one maybe two ‘politicians’ speak at the Convention...this is his convention, he should decide...I did hear that sports figures were going to speak, Bobby Knight; Mike Dictia; Tom Brady; people like that, maybe Jack Nicholson...

Who wants to listen to politicians lie some more, heck we get enough of that every day of our lives...

Good question.... Supposedly all signed it but I think it went by the wayside once it
was down to 3 or 4 candidates. Here’s a link to Christie signing his.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/09/02/rnc-asking-gop-presidential-campaigns-if-candidate-will-sign-loyal-pledge.html

And Edward Cruz had this to say:

03/12/16 11:53 AM EST

BALLWIN, Mo.—While Ted Cruz suggested on Friday night that Donald Trump’s campaign
“affirmatively encourages violence,” he said on Saturday that he would still support
Trump if the New Yorker wins the GOP nomination.

“My answer is the same,” Cruz told reporters here at a suburban St. Louis high school.
“I committed at the outset, I will support the Republican nominee, whoever it is.”

“Ted Cruz is going to be the nominee,” interjected Carly Fiorina, a former GOP
presidential candidate who is now backing Cruz.

But pressed again on whether Cruz stands by his decision to back Trump if he is the
nominee, he continued: “I will support the Republican nominee, but let me be
clear: Carly’s exactly right. We are going to beat Donald Trump.”

http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-gop-primary-live-updates-and-results/2016/03/ted-cruz-reaffirms-commitment-to-support-trump-if-he-wins-nomination-220665

.....

I think Cruz will eventually fall in line once Trump is the official GOP NOMINEE. JMO.

The more points Trump can run up in the polls the worst their dumb ass position will be. The train is leaving the station and he is gaining momentum. Just win baby and everything else will take care of itself. Points, points and more points.

I think Cruz and maybe Kasich are hoping for some input into the Party Plank

Getting something in the party plank is as worthless as an IOU, they never seem to pay off. We have had an anti abortion plank since Roe, and look how much that helped.

Put all those mad-cats together along with Will and Willtard and they could form a new political force — the Butt Hurt Party.

“The pledge is to the nominee....after the voting at the convention....not the presumptive nominee.

Neither one of you would use the weasel word excuse if Cruz were in the same position right now and Trump refused to endorse, not only do you know that, but so do all the Freepers who support Trump.

Honorable people do honorable things, politicians claim to be honorable, but rarely are.

“Wrong. The pledge was to the winner who was Mr. Trump.”

I agree with Trump on this, What I don’t agree with is him wasting time at rallys talking about it. All he is doing is giving CNN the lead story for the night..Trump wants GOPers out! They will use it bolster the story line that Trump can’t unify the party.

Trump needs to get on with the business of beating Hillary and stop messing around with interparty arguments. I don’t like these jerks anymore than he does, but the MSM has already cut down the time they devote to Trump and he still doesn’t see that.

He said yesterday that he can’t understand why he’s not leading in the polls because he gets such big crowds. Well Sanders got huge crowds and lost. Trump needs to focus like a laser on Hillary; he’s not in the primaries anymore.

Cruz is not for America.

Cruz is for Cruz.

He will endorse himself before he ever endorses Trump.
