One of the more disturbing parts of this report is that the crew failed to present a hard target. Which means they didn't’t even present arms or bring those 50 cals or 40 mic mics or whatever up to position. Its mind boggling....

Pending published release of the investigative report, AP notes that local command authority apparently did not release aircraft to locate the riverine patrol boats after comms. were lost. In a hot zone one would think that it would be SOP to do so as well as alerting other USN assets in area. There have been enough annoyance approaches to remain on alert for the one active threat possibility.

Yes you make a good point. The whole thing is suspect. Even I don’t think the Navy has in 7 short years become Camp Runamuck. There is no way they are that incompetent and unprepared. This was something else.
