Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu says Russia will deploy some 10,000 soldiers to the western part of the country because the situation there is "unstable."

Putin knows to do it now while we have an Emperor who doesn’t care and wouldn’t do anything if he did care. Just don’t interrupt the golf and vacations.
In the book, the first thing the Soviets did when they wanted to increase readiness before an invasion was kill a few Colonels for dereliction of duty and falsifying readiness reports.
Pour encourager les autres, as they say...
I read that book many a year ago when Clancy first wrote it. It along with Rainbow 6 are my favorites of Clancy books.
It’s about Brexit and the looming specter of Franceany. Or Gerance.
I think we’re going to have to fight the Germans and the French again. Including all their muslins.
Good thing Obama got that Nobel Peace Prize when he did. Can they repossess it?
It’s looking like that. I’m not sure why the EU is itching for war with Russia.
Red Storm Rising and Team Yankee (Maj. Harold Coyle)... two of my favorite books.
Also “At Sword’s Point” by Coyle as well.
The EU is moving to punish Britian to discourage any other member states from leaving. So what if the member states start to leave. Might the EU technocrats increasingly retreat to Germany as it’s stronghold and maintain support in former Soviet states in Eastern Europe. The states greatly benefit from the freedom to work abroad provided by the EU member state status. Note that at first glance Poland is a big supporter of the EU which seems odd, but Poland has upwards of 700,000 citizens working elsewhere in Europe. So then what would it mean for Russia if the EU is suddenly more focused on around Germany and former Soviet block member states in Eastern Europe? An EU more focus around countries that all have a fractious history with Russia?
Obama abandoned Realpolitik for Feelpolitic.
Anyone would realize that Russia wants Black Sea and Baltic ports, and having Georgia join NATO with two pro-Russian, heavily muslim populations was dicey from the get-go.
A good negotiator, not Hellery, could have gotten everything without inciting the Russians. Instead, we have NATO troops defending the Baltic states (as though that would prevent the Russians from rolling through them in a day or so if they wanted), an odd government in the Ukraine with ineffective sanctions, and Georgia left alone against any of her neighbors and still missing 20% of its territory.
And then Obama and Kerry complain about Russia moving troops around in its own country. What a couple of d!ckheads.
Yup. I have Team Yankee in my library also. Being retired military I love those type books. Then came along W.E.B. Griffin and the Brotherhood of War and The Corp series and I have every Griffin book, except his cop series, I have them all in hardback in my book cases. I also like Jack Higgins. I have been able to round up every book he has written. I found a bunch of his older ones in paperback from 2d and 3d hand book stores on the Internet. I also have all of Steve Coonts books, Flight of the Intruder writer, and my most recent favorites is Brad Thor. I just picked up his new book this past week down at Books Cost A Million (as I refer to the store!!).
RE Brad Thor:
This being the same Brad Thor that was on Glenn Beck talking about a “patriot stepping up and taking out Trump?”
RE W.E.B Griffin:
I read his Broterhood series a while back, and The Corps as well.
Coyle wrote “Bright Star” and “Sword Point”. If you haven’t seen those, they’re worth it.
Is he going to use UBER to move them? As in “Russia Uber Alles”?
I have all of Coyle’s books also. I don’t know about Thor being on any TV shows. As I said in earlier posts, I don’t watch TV news at all, not even Fox, any more. I don’t know how Thor feels about Trump. I know I enjoyed the first couple of his books and read all the rest. They are about an ex-Navy seal turned secret agent for a independent covert US agency that goes after the bad guys where the gov will not. That sounded good to me. Wish we had a real bunch that did that and maybe we would get something done. Whatever, read his first book and I think you will like them. They are pro USA and US military, etc.
Oh, and re the comment about Thor saying someone take out Trump. I have read many comments here where Trump supporters wanted Cruz and others taken out. So I don’t take that stuff at face value. Lots of people run their mouths this time of year when they want their guy to win and think the other guy is a bum. I don’t really trust any of them to be truthful with you. I have not trusted any president I have had since Ronald Reagan. I did not trust any before him either. I first voted way back when Nixon ran. I was not in love with him either. In all these years of voting, only Ronald Reagan did I admire. Only Ronald Reagan did I trust with this nation. He was my commander in chief for eight years. I trusted him to take care of us. After only 4 years of the commie Carter, Reagan brought back trust. Thankfully I retired just as the Klintons came into power. I am glad I did not have to serve under any of them since. Just my six cents worth. Each has his own.
“...only Ronald Reagan did I admire. Only Ronald Reagan did I trust with this nation...”
Ditto, brother. He was an amazing American, and an amazing Man.
In my home library/office I still have the photo of him, with the flag behind him, framed on the wall. Loved the guy. I really miss him. RIGHT NOW is when we need a LEADER like Ronald Reagan. Not a stinking punk like the muslim.
Hua. No argument from me there, Army... none at all.
