I like the reporter’s approach. No-nonsense, no romantisizing the scum, no knashing of teeth over “what did that girl do to make him mad? Did she dare show bare arms that day?”
How refreshing.
“The murderer was dispatched.” would also work. Call the vile scum a “murderer.” Don’t even grant the notion that this is terror.
