On cable news, Twitter and a few conference calls, the debate over dumping Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention is fierce. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan's insistence that delegates could vote their "conscience" is read as the high-sign to undo the primaries; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's (R) musing about the same is a clue that he is ready to save the party.
But with three weeks to go before the convention nominates a candidate for president, Trump's recent hires and his discovery of a teleprompter (a device he once suggested should disqualify any user from the presidency) have led to a tentative sense of calm. Bad poll numbers are not enough to scare them into what would be a historic rejection of a primary winner.

Oh Washington Post, the ones that got their badges pulled by Trump...hummm and they are still lying through their teeth, false teeth that is, that’s how ancient they are...
I can understand Scott Walker’s bitterness at his campaign’s collapse, but if he can’t support the likely nominee, then stop trying to inflict harm thru rhetoric and backbenching.
I know ####s who say they’re conservative who are not voting. 3, at least.
Because he’s not a real conservative. Or something.
I have a feeling their are 10 percent of republicans who feel this and we NEED to keep working on them because it’s the most selfish thing I’ve ever heard in MY LIFE!
Sacrificing country for pride!!
If I lived in a state with a republican senator or congressperson who was against trump, i would call him, fax him, mail him and email him. Text him if i could!!
It’s probably the dumbest plot in recent political history, that’s why.
Poor poor libtards at WaPo, the dream of a GOP contested convention has gone up in smoke, preferably mj smoke.
You know what? I can't. It seemed that when he spoke for himself, he's impressive. But his handlers were framing him as the best young globalist the 'pubs had to offer. He bought into it; either that's who he wants to be or he doesn't have the analytical skills to recognize what happened.
If Walker were half as smart and Constitutional conservative as we thought he was, he would've embraced the Trump nomination. As it is now, Walker sounds like a crybaby Jeb or Cruz wannebee.
Scott Walker will be lucky to stay Governor of WI. He ran a poor campaign, and his popularity dropped in WI.
“I can understand Scott Walkers bitterness at his campaigns collapse, but if he cant support the likely nominee, then stop trying to inflict harm thru rhetoric and backbenching.”
What I understand is that at the end of the day, Walker is the same brand of petty little prick that Ryan, Cruz, et.al are. The three decent former competitors for the nomination are Christie, Huckabee and now Santorum. I even have some trepidations about where Carson is coming from. And there isn’t enough powder available to blow Graham, Fiorino, The Cabana Boy and his blood brother, Scruze to Hell.
Paging professor Teufelsdroch....
The captain is strolling down the boulevard in those finely tailored underoos, again!
All I have to say about that, is, “not all of them.” (reject the idea)
I'll drink to that.
The Washington Post still selling the worst and most skewed polling results.
The Left is freaking, and so is Hillary.
I hope so, I hope they totally go 100% crazy, and I mean bat **** crazy, climbing the walls, tearing up the concrete, knocking each other out...
GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
He never would have won the Presidency. His lack of a college degree would have doomed him.
If the sour-grapes faction did succeed in dumping Trump, that could set a precedent that would negate all future Republican presidential primaries, because it was say that primaries and their votes are basically inconsequential.
Of course, there is a faction that would not mind doing away with primaries and just allowing the GOPelites to select their nominee. That way, they wouldn’t have to be concerned about the opinions/votes of the great unwashed.
Those like Ryan who are undermining Trump want Hillary to win. Then they will blame the loss on Trump’s “anti-immigrant” policies, send a “bi-partisan” amnesty bill to Hillary, and purge nationalists from the party.
Agreed. I thot Walker had more class...guess I was wrong!
hey, I resemble that remark..;^)
