Also, they said it was an “illegal sale”, but what made it illegal? I can sell my personal guns to you, without doing an 4473 form - I’m not a dealer.

So, WHY was this an “illegal sale”??

That’s my question as well. How was a private sale “illegal” because it was “off book”?
And it would be good to know how this guy got out of being charged with owning a select-fire firearm without jumping through all the feds’ hoops.
Everything about this stinks.

Not stating this as fact, just what I read from the article, the issue is that the weapon is full automatic. Transfer of full automatics requires a personal vetting by the feds.
