With many prominent Republicans ducking out of the GOP convention next month in Cleveland, presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump has lined up a slew of sports figures and musicians to appear, including former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka.
Bloomberg on Tuesday reported that Trump campaign aides have lined up former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, Ditka, former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight and NASCAR chief Brian France.
Mr. Trump keeps making the correct decisions
while the rest of the EXEMPT GOP should have gone
down instead of the Titanic.

The idea of having Clint Eastwood at the 2012 convention was a good one, though the execution of the idea was horrible. Trump is being smart here: he knows the common voter does not want to sit and watch a bunch of pontificating politicians, and so he is using their petulance as a rationale for having speakers that the voting public are actually interested in hearing. I hope he “gets” the lessons from the Eastwood debacle, and provides much better execution and entertaining presentation of the ideas that will be the basis for his general election campaign.

Smart move. Instead of the usual convention overload of boring speakers, most of whom regular people don’t know and don’t care, Trump is going the celeb route. Definitely not the same old same old.

More people will tune into the Convention (they included) than ever just to see what he is going to do.

Mike Tyson is not coming as of this writing, though, if he came, he would make a terrific speaker according to some Trump officials.
I hope TRUMP asks some top CHRISTIAN MUSIC ARTISTS to sing too.

I agree that Tyson might not be a good idea. I remember his trial - it wasn’t clear to me that girl wasn’t there of her own volition to do the dirty deed, but nonetheless, the public record is he raped her and did 5 years in the can for it. Im sure he can get enough to just skip Tyson. By the end of the week it will be us righties condoning rape, there’ll be talk of nothing else.
I was thinking the very same thing. Tyson the wife beating rapist.... And Bobby Knight has books written on his violence toward kids and women. He is notorious for his history.

I would think trump would be a able to find some more A) relevant and B) less offensive “A-celebrities” to hang his hat on.
