Naive question I guess, but can’t they be hacked somehow? That is the purpose. Government agents will be able to hack them to prevent them from firing. If I ever end up stuck with one, I will also hack it to make the "SmartGun" a "SensibleGun", meaning one that works reliably. For the owner to bypass the electronics should be no problem at all.
