Donald Trump’s proposed moratorium on Muslim immigration certainly isn’t a unique idea. Dr. Mudar Zahran, a Muslim refugee living in Europe, warned in an interview last October that Muslim migrants should be kept out of Europe. Nor is it close to the most extreme idea recently voiced; that title belongs to a Samoan proposal to ban Islam itself. And now it’s clear that it’s also a mainstream idea in the United States, with polls showing that Americans have come to favor a temporary ban on Muslim immigration.
While Trump’s proposal has long been a winner with GOP primary voters, it initially was greeted with skepticism by the general electorate. For example, three days after Trump announced it, “the Wall Street Journal released a poll that found 57 percent of Americans objected to the proposed Muslim ban. Just 25 percent of those polled supported Trump’s plan at the time,” reports the Daily Caller. Yet while different polls have painted somewhat different pictures, one thing is clear: As time has worn on and Americans have heard news of one jihadist attack after another, support for the immigration moratorium has steadily increased. Reuters has kept a rolling poll on the subject since May. On May 31, Reuters found that 54.5 percent of Americans disagreed with the Muslim ban and 40.7 percent supported it.
By June 6, the same poll found that 52 percent of Americans supported the ban, while 44 percent opposed it.
The Reuters poll has remained steady after the Orlando terror attack. On June 14, fifty percent of likely voters supported a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, while 42 percent opposed it.

MY BIL worries. He was born in Turkey, and loves his home country, but he despises Ertogan. He came to college here, MU, and fell in love with America and my Sister. Very good man, American citizen, and proud of it! He built a great company that makes specialized diamond tooling for aerospace, both commercial and military. Not religious at all.
As long as temporary starts at 100 years. At that time we can assess if the ban should be lifted which given the history of Islam is highly unlikely.
I have heard from multiple sources that the Turkish people are friendly to Americans. Sounds like your sister found a good man!

Make that permanent and deport those here to whence they originated. Take any anchor babies with them and the same goes for those who invaded America from our southern border.

All of a sudden the Attorney General of the United States vows to prosecute anyone who engages in “anti-Muslim speech”.
All of a sudden, Jihadists who engage in terrorism and openly admit they acted in the name of Islam and ISIS, are emphatically declared they are NOT Islamic by our leaders and/or their actions are determined NOT to be terrorism, but other nebulous terms like ‘workplace violence.”
All of a sudden, it becomes Policy that Secular Middle East dictators that were benign or friendly to the West, must be replaced by Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood.
All of a sudden our troops are withdrawn from Iraq and the middle east, giving rise to ISIS.
All of a sudden, America has reduced its nuclear stockpiles to 1950 levels, as Obama’s stated goal of a nuke-free America by the time he leaves office continues uninterrupted.
All of a sudden, a deal with Iran must be made at any cost, with a pathway to nuclear weapons and HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars handed over to fund their programs.
All of a sudden America APOLOGIZES to Muslim states and sponsors of terror worldwide for acts of aggression, war and sabotage THEY perpetrate against our soldiers.
All of a sudden, the American Navy is diminished to 1917 Pre-World War I levels of only 300 ships. The Army is at pre-1940 levels. The Air Force scraps 500 planes and planned to retire the use of the A-10
Thunderbolt close air support fighter. A further draw down of another 40,000 military personnel is in progress.

The polls that show Clinton beating Trump are biased and meant to help bolster Clinton and panic Trump supporters.

I agree. I know several of his friends that went to Germany first, then came here. They are all engineers, and were born into upper middle-class Turkish families. They are all good people, and they all hate Erdogan! They hate jihadis, and consider them criminals of the lowest order.

Once again, I don’t understand why the polls say Hitlery is ahead when polls on these specific issues show Americans behind Trump. I’m not trying to ignore polls I don’t like. It just doesn’t make sense.
