Oakland by it self accounts for 378 of the listed missing. A whopping 40%. The CHP is also cavalier with some exotic weaponry ie: M16’s etc.

I know that you or I would be in a world of hurt. Full disclosure: I am a cop. And I would be looking at dismissal plus whatever the local prosecutor was willing to throw at me. Different state.

Isn't Gavin Newsom pushing a bill that would make the victim of a gun theft a criminal for not reporting the loss within a fixed number of days?

I don’t think you’d be trusted to make them. But, do you think you could fry them if we brought you some frozen ones? There was apolice chief in Oregon that lost his pistol. After he was removed, it turned up in a locked filing cabinet.

Seems that the authorities in SF have trouble holding on to their firearms. Maybe they needs strings going up their sleeve like little kids have for their mittens.
