I really want to support Trump, largely because he isn't Hillary/pure evil. But this: A 10 to 20 percent tariff on manufactured goods to wipe out the trade deficit in goods, with the hundreds of billions in revenue used to slash or eliminate corporate taxes in the USA. is so pure stupid it just hurts to even contemplate. Rigorous enforcement of trade sanctions against dumping, currency manipulation, and similar trade practices are fine. Tariffs are just stupid.

It is stupid. I think it’s best to regard this as a negotiating position, not as his manifesto.
Trump is keen to renegotiate trade deals: so this may be part of his process - a way of putting the frighteners on countries who export to America.
What I’m saying is: don’t let this stop you voting for Trump!

Tariffs are just stupid. D@mn straight we should only pay them not charge them.
Even when the Great Reagan gave us tax cuts we really didn't get them because they just removed every tax deduction the working man had except the mortgage interest deduction and that helped the lenders more than us.
