As Hillary Clinton campaigned with Elizabeth Warren for the first time Monday, the joint appearance raised the question: Is America ready for two women on a presidential ticket?
Clinton is, of course, the first woman ever to clinch a major-party nomination for president. And she’s considering adding a second woman to the ticket, with Warren, a Democratic senator from Massachusetts, as a running mate.
“There is a wow factor to having two women on the ticket,” said Jim Hodges, a former governor of South Carolina and a Clinton ally who urged the campaign to select a woman. “It’s a change message, particularly in this climate.”
Clinton will pick a running mate before Democrats hold their national convention July 25-28 in Philadelphia.
Clinton and Warren appeared together at Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, the kind of test run that presumptive nominees often use to measure face-to-face campaign chemistry as they narrow their choices. Clinton and Warren grasped hands in front of about 2,600 enthusiastic supporters.
“Hillary has brains, she has guts, she has thick skin and steady hands, but most of all she has a good heart, and that is what America needs and that is why I’m with her,” Warren told the crowd. “Are you with her?”
Clinton described Warren as a friend and a great leader, saying, “You just saw why she is considered so terrific, so formidable, because she tells it like it is.” Clinton herself said recently that the country probably was ready for two women on a ticket.

She won’t pick her, unfortunately. Would love to run against that pair. This latest stuff is a sop to Bernie’s young commies, I believe. They are acting like Warren is in contention, having her show up much too obviously at Clinton’s house, TWICE. This is Hillary’s idea of being slick.

I think most non-girlie men would be turned off by a Clinton/Warren ticket. They remind me of my future ex-wife and her annoying mother-in-law.

Great decision to have an all women ticket! Maybe Warren will get that DNA test to prove that she is Cherokee, and thus is not a liar.
Both Hillary and Elizabeth have demonstrated little understanding of basic economics, and have demonstrated a remarkable lack of judgement. What could go wrong?
Even if all those qualities were true, how do they relate to qualifications for president?
The country already elected someone (twice, unbelievably) for president who had absolutely no qualifications but had a skin color. Somehow, I don't think the results from electing someone who has no qualifications but has female genitalia will be any better.
Although I do not think Trump will hesitate to bring up Hillary's many failures during the campaign... her whole career has been one failure after another.
Two screwball nut jobs to tun for the highest and second highest political positions in the US. please do so because more than half the country will just say two nuts, forget i will vote for the other guy.
America is not ready for this female president.
When the first wave of responses to criticism of her POLICIES is a lot of screaming “sexist”,”misogynist”,... the country still has too many “feminists”, politicians, journalists, and others who won’t allow a women to do the job of president and discuss policies with opponents the way the president needs to. That is how Bernie supporters got attacked on DU whenever they brought up a valid opposition to Hillary’s POLICIES.
The right woman could “fix” this by getting up the next day and telling her supporters “shut the hell up. I’m running for PRESIDENT, not FEMALE PRESIDENT and I can defend my positions on merit.” Hillary does the opposite.
She will get NOTHING done as president because her supporters won’t let policy discussions and compromises occur. Even though all successful MALE presidents have had to compromise with congress, her compromises would be a sign that congress is sexist and Hillary is being mistreated to her supporters. And her supporters start the attack early enough in the discussion that it can’t move forward. And just like Obama immediately latches onto his supporters calls of “racism” she will agree with her supporters screaming “sexism” and nothing can get done.
