Robichaud: Picking Elizabeth Warren as VP would be kiss of death
Boston Herald ^ | 6/27/16 | Holly Robichaud

Posted on 06/27/2016 5:48:40 AM PDT by raccoonradio

Someone needs to send an apology to Ohio.

I did not vote for Elizabeth Warren, so you cannot blame me for what is about to happen.

Today, our Massachusetts nightmare hits the campaign trail for the Democratic presidential ticket. U.S. Sen. Warren will be stumping with Hillary Clinton in the swing state.

Will they do a sit-in to demand votes for the ticket? That’s the only way they are going to get support for this already flawed ticket if Warren is chosen for the vice presidential slot.

It’s no surprise that Warren is being considered. She has been working hard to earn her spot. I don’t mean in accomplishments for the people she serves. Forget Massachusetts — Warren has spent her days toiling away for Democratic candidates all across this country. On a daily basis, she sends out fundraising emails begging for money for liberal candidates. Please note that she failed to send one out for Clinton until recently.

For the amount of fundraising Warren does for Democrats, it is hard to distinguish her from the actual Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Who knew being elected U.S. senator from the commonwealth was all about raising money for the party? Can you imagine the outcry from Democrats if Scott Brown had spent most of his time in the Senate campaigning for fellow Republicans rather than doing his job?

If there is any accountability left within the mainstream media, certain issues such as higher education, profiting from property investments and affirmative action would be off the table with Warren as the VP nominee.

How can a Clinton-Warren ticket talk about the cost of college education with a straight face? As we all know, Lizzy got paid $300,000 for teaching one class. Despite the complete hypocrisy, they will be shameless demagogues on the issue.

Warren’s as-yet unsupported claims of Native American heritage have a much better chance of damaging the ticket, because this gross abuse of an affirmative action claim undermines Clinton’s base support. While certain Massachusetts media outlets have avoided coming down hard on her, the national media probably will not accept the “family lore” explanation of “high cheek bones.” There will be pressure on her to publicly release all of her job and school applications to see where she checked the box.

Picking Warren as vice president would most likely be the kiss of death for the Clinton ticket. No matter whether Republican or Democratic, candidates from Massachusetts sink on the national stage.

I disagree.

As big a phony as she is, promising to punish bankers is an absolute crowd pleaser.

I wish she would pick Warren. Can you imagine the daily cat fight at the White House with these two!

Fauxcahontas and Lieawatha are just too irresistible. They will leave a mark. One for which there is no response and an injury she won’t be able to heal.

She won’t take questions at a press conference. Everything she says is scripted. In fact she repeats the same message over and over again. Listen to her for about 15 minutes and it becomes clear that her only qualification for her position at Harvard was being “Native American”.

Hey, if Democrat voters were smart they wouldn’t have gotten away with a century of this sort of hypocrisy.

I agree, people here are vastly underestimating the support that Bernie got, and all that will go to Hitlary for sure...

Im really having a hard time seeing how Trump wins. Everyone already knows everything bad about H... and she’s still ahead...

sad times indeed :(

Hillary could pick Charles Manson as her running mate and 85% of the Democrats would praise and support her. 95% of the mass media would be singing her praises for her accepting and supporting Manson’s rehabilitation. At least 20% of the Republican elite would be supportive and probably 35% would publicly voice their preference for her over Trump.
Are you reading this George Will?

“Elizabeth Warren” and “kiss” should never be used together. Crock-a-jawea alone is awful enough.

What I really fear the most is that if Trump loses, the tyrants of Political Correctness will take that as a major victory, and they will unleash the Thought and Speech Police like never before. We’ve had them at gale force level of obnoxiousness for years, but it will become a full-fledged Level 5 Hurricane that back by the outright weirdness of Hillary Clinton, will blow the country right off the map.

I think Warren's biggest electoral vulnerability is her own damning words, in which she publicly claims to have created the looney, juvenile, business destroying, socially disruptive, disease-laded, out of control, intellectually bankrupt, philosophically incoherent, America-hating, unsanitary, disgusting, left-wing extremist temper-tantrum movement Occupy Wall Street:

“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” she says. “I support what they do.”

Conservatives need to endlessly tie her to Occupy Wall Street, recapping the horrific images of its appalling behavior:

Hillary will pick the least intelligent and most abusive VP candidate.
Dems always do.
They pick the one that will make them stand out and look more intelligent than they actually are.
Note: Mondale, Algore, Biden..................

"Everyone already knows everything bad about H"

Not at all, Hillary has been shielded forever by a corrupt and biased MSM. Many bad things are not widely known at all, and people who aren't political junkies don't pay much attention. Just because FReepers know a lot of the bad stuff about Shrillary doesn't mean it has made it out unfiltered to 130 million voters. Trump can shine a spotlight on many things that have not gotten proper attention before now. Whether that will be enough to affect enough votes is another question, but Shrillary has not even begun to be "known" to the public the way she will be over the next few months.

Just remember, Biden tore Ryan apart. Trump needs to (and will) pick a fighter.

AKA “Impeachment Insurance”.

This will be a challenge for Hillary!™, finding someone less intelligent, less even tempered, more dishonest, more criminal, and more abusive than herself.

Pretty much anyone she picks will rapidly become perceived as better than the reality of Hillary!™’s shaky finger on The Button.

I wonder if Trump has been playing dead hoping that she would do exactly that? You’ve got the Sanders people being egged on (or at least that’s how it looks to me) and Brexit is a good indicator that Clinton will have to go with Sanders, Warren, or someone like them. There’s no downside to playing to the left if Trump is polling horribly...

The thing is, once the veep is picked, there is no going back.

Trump might be crazy like a fox :)
