Hey, radu...we did indeed get a couple hours of light rain in the night. I don’t think I need to worry about watering the lawns for a couple days.

I just got back from making sure there wasn’t a cat under my Mom’s bed.
I’ve reached the conclusion that she can do whatever she wants. Like Sinatra, she can do it her way. I’ll pick up the pieces if need be. I talked to my sister and we are in agreement. She said Mom has reinterated that she DOES NOT want someone here. When the time comes I’ll just do it.
It’s been a rough weekend.
But I got my new laptop. The old one’s hard drive died. It took me telling Dell several times to talk to Al, my computer guy, about any questions they had, that he was my “agent”. They wanted him to run their diagnostics. He finally convinced them that it wouldn’t even boot. Finally they said they would send a guy (per my service agreement) with a new HD and get it going. Then they said they had to back order the HD and then said they were sending a new laptop. I finally have it. Al put Windows 7 on it (it came with 10). I’ve got Office 2007 and SmartFTP (for loading music) reloaded. Now I just need time to reload other stuff I “need”.
YAY for y’all getting some rain!
We had huge thunderheads all around today, several dumping rain, but nothing here. I saw a lot of flashing in the sky when I was out a little while ago on a store run but it’s distant. There’s a system coming this way that MIGHT give us some rain tomorrow.
I sympathize with what your going through. We had to do pretty much the same with Aunt Clara. The one thing we put our foot down about was no driving. Had to lock her car up in the garage (100-plus feet from the house) because she had a set of keys to it we couldn’t find. Snuck off a couple of times and almost wrecked.
With luck, she’ll realize she needs someone there before she hurts herself. If not, hurting herself will be a wake-up call.
WOOHOO, got the laptop at last!! That should make things a LOT easier - - - once you get all your stuff loaded. That part’s a pain. But once it’s done, you’ll be cookin’ with gas.
