I don’t understand what she did or why on earth she would have done this. If she stole $1,700 over 2 years, that’s only about $70 per month. What is the point of stealing such a small amount of money?
This story was very short on details. Was she just illegally in the program? I can see a single adult getting about $70 a month in food stamps. She never thought this would get her in trouble? I don’t know how much money she makes, but I’m guessing it’s way above the cut-off point for food stamp eligibility.
What a crazy story, I hope they throw her lib behind in jail. If she were not an elected official I could see shrugging at it and saying: don’t do that again, but this woman has really dishonored her oath of office and deserves to have the book thrown at her.
