How do EU people in the UK feel about Brexit?
BBC ^ | June 26, 2016 | Claire Bates

One of the most visible signs of Britain's membership of the EU in recent years has been the Polski Sklep.

Polish grocery stores have popped up on the High Streets of most big towns, responding to the growing population of Eastern Europeans in the UK.

"I feel really bitter and emotional about it," says Iwona Erikson, cradling her baby daughter in one arm.

"I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought - 50% of the people here are racist. They have decided: 'We don't want foreigners here.' I had never felt discriminated against until now.

Sylwia Sawska, serving customers behind a counter piled high with long pork sausages and cheeses, is also worried.

"People are so nice here, nicer than in Poland, so I'm very surprised they voted to leave," she says.

Sawska, 20, has been working in the shop for five months. She moved from Poland with her parents and younger brother six months ago.

"We felt welcome here and the pay is good. I can earn £7 an hour, while in Poland I would earn £1.50 an hour.

Exactly. But the fact remains that the immigration from the Commonwealth has nothing to do with the EU and never has been.

It is a cabal of schemers from the Netherlands former royal Dutch. The Swiss are in it right up to their eyes also. The Swiss think they can stay clear by playing it both ways.

She never out right called them Bilderburgers.

I wonder how many eastern European immigrants managed to register to vote in the UK Brexit referendum...

Probably close to zero. Only British, Irish, Cyprus and Malta citizens with residence in the UK had the right to vote. I doubt many Eastern European immigrants have had stayed long enough to have a chance to apply British citizenship.

Unemployment in the East is below the EU average now. It is a large problem in the South.

I don’t think the Syrian Muslims were part of the commonwealth. I think the EU decided that they must comply from a humanitarian standpoint, not realizing that Muslims aren’t really civilized humans.

The UK refused to have anything to do with the EU’s (or rather Merkel’s) plan for Syrian refugees to be distributed throughout the EU by quota. And because the UK is not in the Schengen open-borders area, it couldn’t be enforced. We have let in a few Syrian refugees, but nothing like the numbers proposed by Merkel, and nothing to do with the EU.

....and if Texas does not want you?

I wasn't planning on teaching Gender Studies or African American Studies at a university in Houston.

I wasn't planning on mooching on welfare in Dallas, and then whining that even with more stuff than the people supporting me get to keep it's not enough.

I wasn't planning on trying to remake Austin, Texas, to look like the People's Republic of Maryland.

I was just planning on moving someplace remote and bringing enough guns to outfit a small town just about anywhere but Texas and enough money to retire for the next century or so. I think they'll take me.

the silly cow should worry more about the muslime goathumpers that would gladly slit her throat and burn down her shop with her in it for selling those long pork sausages...

Hey, this is not about white Europeans. This is about Muslims, Africans, and the rest of the dregs. Poles are equally intelligent and as hardworking as the British.

You've clearly never been to Britain, there is a lot of disdain for Polish immigrants there.

Ok, but Actually I have on a couple of occasions for meetings. The subject never came up. I imagine it is different if you live there. The Brits have had disdain for Yanks too.
