You can’t help the stupid. It’s best to not try.
In this case, stupidity is also a result of conceit, not just plain ignorance. They pride themselves of moral and intellectual superiority. You can’t change their mind when they are so full of it. Of course, this applies to liberals in U.S. and anywhere in the world.
