We have all always said there would be no need for mass deportations. Enforce the current laws, fine the employers HUGELY and they will not hire illegals, make sure they don’t get welfare (which they are getting now - a tremendous amt) and they will self deport.
We shall just have to wait and see.
If the actual laws that are on the books right now were enforced, in a few months time vast numbers would self-deport. Trump knows this. “Mass deportations” sounds “mean”.
(Not to me of course.)
That was my thinking too. If employers are penalized for hiring illegals, sanctuary cities are done away with, welfare programs and schooling is not funded, it seems that a lot of people would leave on their own.
There is one other action that needs to be taken, and that is to stop the human trafficking, aka slavery. The illegals who are working under the table for employers who get hit with huge fines will go back once they no longer can work. But victims of human trafficking are captives; I don’t see how fines are going to help them.
Just denying them welfare would get rid od millions. Why are we fiving freebies to those who break out laws. Because Democrats want another loyal, dependent constituency. They don’t care about the downtrodden.
