That means that in a year, the U.K. could be out of the E.U. or in 20 years they will claim to be working on it.

Moreover, neither the leadership of the Conservatives or Labour are motivated to move on with the Brixit.

The EU is pressuring the UK to leave as soon as possible. There are May 2017 elections coming up in France and Germany are they are nervous that if the Brexit drags along, the other peons might get ideas. Then again, perhaps the old "Be careful what you wish for" thingy applies here. If the Brits exit tout de suite and the world doesn't end, again, the peons might get ideas. Rock meet Hard Place.

I imagine those countries still in the EU are rapidly formulating trade treaties with the UK as they aren't about to pass up that lucrative market, no matter what "Massa" says.
