What hotel keeps security footage that is 7 months old? Is that normal?

Most I have seen is loops that keep 4-5 days.

Perhaps it was included in a "Best Of" DVD.

Keeping the videos for insurance purposes? What is the statute of limitations for suing for a slip or fall on their property? 4 years? I’d keep 24 hr a day videos if I were them.
