Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton regained a double-digit lead over Republican rival Donald Trump this week, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted ONLINE and included interviews with 1,201 likely voters in all 50 states. It has a credibility interval, a measure of accuracy, of 3.3 percentage points.

How do they determine who to poll? Very odd. And no internal data to review.

In other words, this is a PUSH POLL which always the political media to then discuss it as if it is a true statement. It appears to be a joke of a poll.

If Hillary is above 45% that is not good news...and this essentially shows her at 47%. She needs far less of the undecided vote to get to 50%.

Trump had a window where he would have had a huge advantage by writing a check and overwhelming Clinton and the media through paid advertising the last month or so to increase her negatives while improving his own. Instead, he has allowed Clinton and the media to completely control the narrative...and still continues to do so.

The Dems jumped the shark with Jonathan Gruber.
By comparison, Trump seems the perfect gentleman and he’ll win big in November.

The problem is...I remember us using this same reasoning in prior elections. We can’t just assume the polls are wrong...

Online?

This is not a random sample poll.

Worthless.

And if more respondents self-identify as Democrats, you’re going to get an inaccurate view of the electorate.

I don’t believe Hillary is up by 13+ points.

Are they just appealing to that sick class of voters who want to be on the winning side, no matter who it is?

UK polls were wrong.

This push poll is being used to promote the inevitability of Hillary.

Of course, if you’re a Hillary supporter, you’re likely to be very happy.

No one knows how people will vote four months from now.

I think as of mid week, she’s probably ahead by 4-5 points. Anything more strikes me as absurd.

True, but you can’t take any piece of info from the American media and accept it as gospel either.

The poll was conducted online. ??? That is fine, but how do they determine who gets to take the poll?

1,201 likely voters in all 50 states

So that either means Reuters somehow reached out to “likely voters” via the internet and either selected 24 people from each of the 50 states, or they came up with a different way to select who and how many vote from each state. So if they had more voters from CA, but Trump actually won more overall states, Trump is sitting very good to be the next President.

Again this poll is a joke. And anyone that tries to lead with this poll as a way to support an anti-Trump message, needs to be called out and told the poll is a joke. Then say “next question, I’m not wasting my time on over the top push polls”

No one is going to tell a pollster they’ll vote for Trump.

A lot of the support for Hillary is phantom support.

Can Reuters/Ipsos vouch for the veracity of people’s statements?

They can’t.
