It seems that it was mostly the millennials who wanted to remain in the EU. They fear that their future of being students for free until they get tired of that, followed with a nice fat pension with no work in between is in jeopardy.

American millennials are really starting to fear the same fate might be in store for them as well... the idea of working instead of being perpetual students, artists, writers, bloggers, "observers of humanity", etc. is pretty scary.

Because the EU is just bigger government socialism. What the UK has done is said we would rather control our own destiny and compete. Competition is good.

I’ve noticed that many American millennials see themselves as citizens of the world and not Americans. They have no loyalty to our traditions, institutions, or people. It’s all about the next startup, global cause de jour, or stupid piece of technology they don’t need.

the idea of working instead of being perpetual students,

I know a gal in California - been going to college free and subsidized housing because of it - etc - for TWELVE years!

She still doesn't even have an Associate degree - because she's afraid when she gets a degree, she'll be turned out to actually work. She's almost 40...
