Illinois could become the first state in the U.S. with a law giving Muslim-Americans a formal voice in state government.
The Chicago Tribune reports that a bill approved by the Legislature would create a 21-member Illinois Muslim-American Advisory Council. It's awaiting Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner's signature. The governor's office said he's reviewing it.
Muslim leaders said it would send a welcoming message to Muslims. The governor and legislative leaders would appoint council members.
Kareem Irfan, a Chicago lawyer who led an earlier version of the council under Gov. Pat Quinn, said it would be good to have a lasting institutional body so the community is not subject to the whims of each governor.
"Given all that is going on with the misinterpretation about Islam and the interests and concerns of the Muslim-American community, it's almost obligatory on behalf of a governor of this state and all governors to have such a body," Irfan said.

Nah. I think Islam has provided the world with a very good interpretation of its intent and goal.
More and more of us are getting it every day!
Technically, there is nothing in the constitution that says “separation of church and state.” It says congress shall make no law establishing a religion, though this measure comes close. Personally, I think the constitution should have stopped at, congress shall make no law. Regardless, to do this they may have to argue that Islam is a political system which sort of frees us up for a war on Islam.
We have been shown, by the Muslim in the WH, that those little rules are just there to slow down progress.
If someone doesn’t like the rules, just demand a change based on being some “oppressed class” or other.
It’s actually “union of Islam and State and to hell with every other religion”.
I’m aware of that, I was just observing the blatant hypocrisy.

Almost obligatory for all governors to have a Muslim advisory board because of the interests and concerns of the Muslim community? Well aside from knowing that every blue state including my current one of the People's Republic of New York will follow suit, it's interesting how there's something so unique about Muslims that they require an extragovernmental presence to the elected government. That can only mean that they also require their own extragovernmental set of laws which they just happen to have at the ready.
First of many efforts to ensure that the governor considers minority perspectives? So every other group should have its own extragovernmental presence to the elected government because this voting thing that we're told is so sacred to minorities that they shouldn't have to produce ID because it takes away their voting rights is illegitimate when it comes to them.
This is not going to end well or peacefully at this rate.
They’re really setting up a SHARIA COUNCIL .. and they will push and push to get their demands added to the laws of the state.

I agree, but only to the extent that Chicago is such a dysfunctional sh**hole, it deserves the absolute worse fruit for its murdering labors...
