Voters in France, Italy and the Netherlands are demanding their own votes on European Union membership and the euro, as the continent faces a contagion of referendums.
EU leaders fear a string of copycat polls could tear the organisation apart, as leaders come under pressure to emulate David Cameron and hold votes.
It came as German business leaders handed a considerable boost to the Leave campaign by saying it would be very, very foolish to deny the UK a free trade deal after Brexit.
Markus Kerber, the head of the BDI, which represents German industry, said that 1970s-style trade barriers would result in job losses in Germany.
Imposing trade barriers, imposing protectionist measures between our two countries or between the two political centres, the European Union on the one hand and the UK on the other would be a very, very foolish thing in the 21st century.

The EU is not only going to break up, it's going to explode.
This is the great fear of the globalists and the NWO they tried to usher in.
Down with the Bilderberg globalists!
In your face, One World Orderists!
Free trade among sovereign European nations makes sense. Allowing a bunch of unelected foreigners to overrule your laws and traditions and control your borders doesn’t. It’s dawn and wake up alarms are ringing across Europe.
Thankfully the EU is ruled by Junker, not Lincoln :p
Short the Euro.
It’s a great day to buy the British Sovereign Bond.
I love the Brexit vote! It wasn’t even close!!!!
The globalist creeps are still blaming it on “grumpy, uneducated old men”. The REAL issue is probably educated, middle-class voters who could not admit in polite company that they supported “Leave”, but they voted Leave anyway.
The same may well occur with voting for Trump this November. Watch out, Crooked Hillary!!!!
Of course, France, the Netherlands, Italy etc. deserve their own referenda. And this whole thing is good for Serbia, too!!!!
However, the UK still has a pro-EU government, so the vote is only the beginning. Stay tuned!!!!
BOOM! They gone. If they got any brains left that is.
Yep, the EU "leaders" could have avoided the possibility completely by limiting themselves to the specific and limited functions under which they were formed.
But bureaucrats can't avoid bossy mission creep nor do they even have the common sense to notice when their bossiness is growing intolerable because of the bubble in which they live.
An idea whose time never came.
Say Buh-bye EU!
Reagan came in after Thatcher. The Euros are taking their que from Mr. Trumps mouth. Come November Trump will follow Reagans pattern.
Merkel is a freaking disaster. First Merkel, then the muslim invasion. Of course they all want out.
Just wait for the world markets to react to the realization that the US elected Trump...who WILL NOT sign the TTIP or TPP and who has threatened to renegotiate all trade deals to which the US is party.
Note how the US Stock Markets are shrugging the BREXIT off. Right now 2% down and holding steady or even inching back to even. Not a catastrophe.
Lame duck Barack Jug-Ears Obama should embark on a Goodbye Tour in Europe.
He should travel to each EU country to advise them against voting to leave the EU.
He could have a significant impact.
After all - Look what he did for Britain...
I don’t like that term “free trade.” Everybody has their own definition. Free trade wasn’t supposed to mean third world countries get to cheat and use slave labor and we shut up. That was never the deal.
Great News! May the good viruses of loving your own country first and last return to those in Europe, who want their countries to be strong again!
But it’s beyond Merkel, right? She’s got a hand up her @ss manipulating her mouth. Like when Bush stood there with a stupid look and said I guess we’re going to have to destroy capitalism in order to save it.
Hahaha..
