The Beatles’ “Trilogy” is perhaps the greatest 3-set of albums ever recorded.

Rubber Soul
Revolver (my favorite Beatle album)
Sgt Pepper

What’s even more amazing is these 3 were released within an 18-month period.

When I was a young kid living in Hollywood, I was listening to KHJ on a sat afternoon. They were playing this new album and before each track someone was describing what the song was about and what was happening in the studio.

The album? The Beatles (White Album)
The “DJ”? George Harrison

Bob Dylan’s trilogy was also impressive:

Bringing It All Back Home
Highway 61 Revisited
Blonde on Blonde.

Very nice. Good memories. I wonder if there’s a recording of that (George as the DJ).

Also Hendrix’s trilogy:

Are You Experienced
Axis: Bold As Love
Electric Ladyland.

Good things come in threes!
