The taxpayer funded University of Arizona will become the first university in America to offer a transgender studies program.
The program is set to launch by fall of 2017, and will grant master’s degrees.
The school's program will focus on sex, gender, cultural issues, political issues, and the life experiences of transgender people.
This new program will be the result of the university’s Transgender Studies Initiative, introduced in 2013.
The school has also hired three new professors to teach in the program, and plans to hire a fourth.
"The three people who had been hired were all white, and we were really trying to prioritize hiring faculty of color," said Susan Stryker, who is in charge of the new program.
Stryker currently heads the University of Arizona’s Institute for LGBT studies. She is also an associate professor of women's studies.

It should properly be part of an Abnormal Psychology course.
So they’re just going to sit there and watch “Madame Butterfly”, “Priscilla: Queen of the Desert” and “Boys Don’t Cry” and get course credits?

U of A is panicking due to declining enrollment and long ago discarded academically viable curricula in order to try to entice suckers to enroll. It will be a blessing in America when, not if, these institutions of “higher education” forever close their doors.

That is so discriminatory. Nothing less than a Ph.D. should be granted to every transgender person. Better yet: an M.D. Then they can all do gender-bender surgery.
