“...obviously, being a criminal is not a bar to holding elected office. “
Yeah, because if that were the case, we’d have a 90% reduction in the Congressional Delegation tomorrow!

Why would a corrupt democrat resign? He’d still have the full support of the rats who don’t care about the law.

I believe he was threatened with expulsion if he didn’t resign immediately but could be wrong.

Does he get to keep his six figure pension? Certainly, plus the seven figure lobbyist job that he will be given.

Thinking back 50 years ago I was told by a reliable source that a House rep from NJ was a known mobster of the Cosa Nostra. The name escapes me.

..How does Alce Hastings hold office? Any body know. He was convicted of taking bribes as a federal judge and impeached in the Senate? What is up there...
Someone convicted as he was is not supposed to be able to hold elective office.
However, the prohibition was somehow omitted from being written into the Impeachment conviction paperwork. Nor, was it spoken into the official proceedings record.
He got to run, win, and become a “Representative” based on that omission, a technicality. He’s just another run of the mill crooked, corrupt Democrat. Like Charlie Rangel, Bill, and Hillary.

He will likely get a 500,000 lobbyist job scamming fellow black people. It’s what they do.
