That's how I remember it. High school in the late 70's. Summer evenings in a backyard with friends who inhaled. Listening to it blare out of speakers as wisps of blue smoke drifted skyward.

Background: I turned 12 in 1970.

Really liked the first 3 zep records - really disliked them after that.

As a high schooler, the local rock station played StH every morning at the same time - my wake up time coincedentally.

I placed the clock radio across the room so I had to get up to turn it off.

At the beginning of the 1970s, probably a third of the top-40 airplay was made up of "druggie songs". It's a byproduct of the era.
