The consequences of climate change on Boston are expected to be far more calamitous than previous studies have suggested, a new report commissioned by the city says.

In the worst-case scenario, sea levels could rise more than 10 feet by the end of the century — nearly twice what was previously predicted — plunging about 30 percent of Boston under water. Temperatures in 2070 could exceed 90 degrees for 90 days a year, compared with an average of 11 days now.

And changes in precipitation could mean a 50 percent decline in annual snowfall, punctuated by more frequent heavy storms such as nor’easters.

The report, by scientists from the University of Massachusetts and other local universities, has raised concerns in City Hall just two weeks after Mayor Martin J. Walsh attended a climate summit in Beijing.

“The updated climate projections confirm that we must work together to take bold approaches to prepare Boston for the impacts of climate change,” Walsh said in a statement.

Still waiting to sail to the North Pole in an iceless Arctic Ocean. Didn’t that esteemed climatologist “Dr” Algore say this was going to occur?

The report, by scientists from the University of Massachusetts...

Until a few years ago UMass was led by the younger brother of Whitey Bulger,a serial killer who was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List for years. When called to testify before a House Committee in DC a few years back he took the 5th several dozen times.

...has raised concerns in City Hall just two weeks after Mayor Martin J. Walsh attended a climate summit in Beijing.

It was recently announced that Marty Walsh,a union thug before he became Mayor of Boston,is being investigated by the FBI for his activities as a union thug.

“Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is a union goon who supports the “gay” takeover of the entire month of June (and half of May), and a “gay” St.Patrick’s Day parade. He used thug tactics to gain these “rights” for the “gays”.”

Marty Walsh is such a dim wit that even an exhumed Mumbles Menino would crush him in any sort of “intellectual” exchange.

A good deal of Boston is built on the bay and tidewaters. i.e., Back Bay and the Commons. Sort of like protecting New Orleans.

Boston has shown us how to build tunnels, no price or time overrun was too great. They should go Holland on us. Build dikes, sea walls, circle the city. Trump builds a wall on the border to protect America, Boston builds a dike to protect their snowflakes.

One might think thst MIT would lay to rest this crap, since janitors there have more IQ than the sum of climate research minions.

But...since that university lies in the cesspool of Boston.........

What do you expect from a union goon, anyway? We don’t call them “goons” for their intellectual brilliance, after all!!

Of course, now it is not “politically correct” to use the term “union goon”. At the most, we can call them “union thugs”. Phooey, anyway!

The real problem is with the people of Boston. Why did you all elect this loser in the first place?

There are researchers at MIT who are “climate change deniers”!!!! (Skeptics, really!)

But then there are politicians who want to criminalize “climate change denial”. Is Goofy Elizabeth Warren one of them?

Unfortunately, I grew up in this Bolshevik hell-hole.
I’ve been by the area enough times to remember everything.

I spent last night listening to the locals tell me they’re moving to Canada if Trump gets elected & that Trump lies 95 percent of the time.

This little bit of humor this morning was needed.

oncebitten said: " If the average depth is going up over time then the sea level is rising where you are taking the measures."

That might be true if not for subsidence; that is, the land mass itself can rise or fall. My home is 600 feet above sea level. When we had our well dug, seashell fragments were found at about the two hundred foot level.

Did the sea fall over 400 feet; or did the land mass get pushed up 400 feet. It's more complicated than just measuring water depth at a single location.

“The real problem is with the people of Boston. Why did you all elect this loser in the first place?”

I personally had nothing to do with it. But, I have to travel and do business in the sewer periodically.

But to answer your question, an un-holy alliance exists between moneyed liberals and underclass gimmedats. This has existed for decades.

Each election is nothing more than an exercise in traditional corruption. Case in point is the election of the idiot sitting in the big office at Government Center.
