Members of the House Republican Conference are furious at Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R.-Wis.) after they were forced to sidelines for more than nine hours while House Democrats staged a college-style sit-in in the House chamber to demand restrictions on gun rights. “Ryan was so weak, he just let them take over,” a Capitol Hill source told Breitbart News.

Interesting that Pelosi can override the Capitol Police’s security directives.
Shows the complete disregard of the Dems for any security measures, even those undertaken for their own safety.
If the parties were reversed, the GOP would have been manhandled out of there yesterday evening, with Pelosi’s orders and blessing.
Like Bush did to the Clinton operatives who sabotaged his transition to the Presidency in early 2001, Ryan will totally forgive his Dem “colleagues” instead of going nuclear on them with sanctions,etc. for this stunt.
And the Dems know this, so they just do whatever they want, even though they are in the minority.
And the Senate is a mirror reflection of the same. The Dems still control the agenda even with the GOP Senators in the majority.
He is definitely not Speaker material. Hopefully, he will be voted out of his seat.

Notice in debates, the “moderators” always ask about leftist issues using leftist terminology.

Likely the security sweeps are "make work" (waste) at this moment in time. Security is probably ordered by the House in the first place, so they have the right to cancel their order. The protesters know that their army is guarding the buiulding, and peasants aren't allowed to even enter the building unless they have been disarmed.
The police routinely give breaks to the privileged (in part becuase they consider their class to be privileged), so honoring a demand or request to bug off, coming from a fellow privileged person, is not taken as a slight.
Correct, and no member of the Capitol Police is going to risk their bennies and pension by ticking off the Minority Leader.
No, they have to get back to harassing the members of the public who actually own the place and who are visiting THEIR Capitol.

This chamber is the hallowed scene of many past and present historic heroes and other noble men and women serving their country as representatives of the people....as well as the scene of enlightened legislation carried on from post-Revolutionary War times till the present.
The Hall of Congress should be sacrosanct...devoted to the mechanics of our Republic... NOT the playing fields for "Occupy Wall Street" tactics and the staging-ground for boorish, corrupt politicians to spew forth disgusting chants, to indulge in sprawling sit-ins and to mill about in street-corner style protests.
What's next, fist fights and destruction inside our country's legislative chamber as we have seen over the years in film clips from the chambers of third-world countries?
Ryan should have nipped this shameful demonstration right in the bud. Instead, by his lack of responsible action, he emboldened the Democrat rabble in the chamber to carry on and to salivate over the possibility for even more aggressive "occupations" in the future. What's next, "Occupy the Senate"?, "Occupy the Supreme Court"?, "Occupy Any National Shrine"?, "Occupy Arlington Cemetery"?......
Don't laugh, these leftists will stop at nothing to create chaos, fear, disrespect and turmoil anywhere and at any time to achieve their goals.
Yesterday's shameful tactics are part of their playbook...and yesterday, the left's Alinsky tactics (under the guise of "gun-control") were turned up another notch right under our very noses.....and right within the walls our very own historic and hallowed House.
