Yes I was born in Dec and the next month/year all babies born in New Zealand were no long British but were registered as New Zealanders by birth..the law had changed as of Jan 1st..

I was registered on the 10th of January and so I have a New Zealand birth certificate but I was eligible because of my actual birth date, to apply for and have a British passport..

I think it might have been because of the hols at Christmas and New Year and the unionized employees of our local government were not working or because our tiny town had run out of the original documents and they had to wait for the newer New Zealand ones but Mom registered me one month after my birth...

Mom and I were discharged from the hospital Christmas Eve so it might have been due to the offices being closed..

I never thought to ask while my parents were alive..

Interesting isn’t it ???

I was born the same nationality as Obama’s supposed baby daddy...

If you can get one great, it will be a nice bit of history because if the leave vote fails today you may have to exchange it for an EU passport.
