Russia is breaching international conventions by dropping incen­diaries similar to white phosphorus on to residential neighbourhoods in the Syrian city of Aleppo in what is thought to be the prelude to a ground assault to retake the city from rebel forces.

Photographs have shown what experts believe to be a thermo­baric bomb, the most powerful explosive apart from a nuclear weapon, being detonated next to urban areas, with potentially devastating effects for civilians.

Kerry wasn’t in government then. They walked away from the Paris talks. We carpet bombed Hanoi for several days with B-52s....including on Christmas.

They came back to the table....fast.

We hit them with a force of about 200 B-52s. We dropped about 30 million pounds on dumb bombs on them. So figure around 40,000+ bombs assuming mostly 500s and 750lb bombs being the majority.

It was such a huge attack we lost around 16 B-52s.
