You should review my post again as I did not mention Jim Crow laws.

Leave it to Beaver was fiction.

I do understand that the post war economy was good, especially manufacturing, but that was partially do to the rest of the world’s manufacturing capacity had been destroyed and just being rebuilt.

However, industry and technology has advanced in the last 60 years. The guys that would have been working in a factory in 1956 are today writing code. Back then GM was the largest corporation, today it’s Apple.

The jobs are still there, the skill sets required have changed.
