Some day, under the beautiful utopia that is single payer healthcare, a whole host of data will be used to deside your worthiness for treatment, further treatment and/or advanced treatment.

There will be a individual risk/reward assessment.

Among the risk factors that will be part of the matrix, for most will gun ownership.

A heart valve operation just can’t be wasted on a gun owning, employed, pick up driving, church attending, nascar fan. Too many boxes checked, the risks there are off the chart.

And washed up climate scientists will probably write the risk assessment algarythm.

So don’t worry.

Demands. Now that's an interesting word buddy. We might have to have a talk about that one of these days.

I still don’t know how he emigrated to the US in 1990 and got a job with the FBI in 1994 that required a security clearance. Only political appointees get clearances like that.

It was the Clinton administration. Everything was for sale.

Gamal Abdel-Hafiz, born in Cairo, immigrated to the U.S. in 1990. He recently retired from the FBI after 22 turbulent years at the bureau. Following the Orlando attack, Abdel-Hafiz explained his rationale for creating a national gun registry: A former FBI counter-terrorism agent says lawmakers could make mass murders less likely. "What we need to do is keep the ownership of guns known to the government, so we know who has what,"

This alone is cause for his immediate firing and loss of pension, and never having a government job at any level again.

A Portrait of Gamal Abdel-Hafiz: Former Agent in the FBI’s International Terrorism Squad By Marlena Telvick
During his seven years as an FBI special agent, Gamal Abdel-Hafiz rose to the second highest level an agent can obtain. Hailed for his work on several major terrorism cases, including the June 1996 Al-Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in East Africa, and the 2002 “Lackawanna Six” case, he was then fired abruptly. Here’s a look at the complex allegations that cost him his job.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/sleeper/fbi/gamal.html

Update

After months of reexaming the factual findings of Gamal Abdel-Hafiz’s case as part of his appeal, a three-person Disciplinary Review Board (DRB) convened by the FBI’s Inspection Division (INSD) determined that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations made by his former wife.

On Jan. 30, 2004, Abdel-Hafiz was informed by Assistant FBI Director Steven McCraw that he had won the appeal of his termination and would be reinstated, effective immediately. The decision, acknowledged by a senior FBI official as a “highly unusual reversal,” surprised many.

“I was stunned,” Abdel-Hafiz says. “I was preparing to resort to the courts. Instead, on their own the bureau decided to reverse their decision. It’s so much better for me to have the FBI rectify the situation than a judge. I feel very good. Very happy.”

Details on what exactly led the Disciplinary Review Board to reinstate the former counterrorism agent after his very public dismissal are not available. A senior FBI official would say only that because personnel matters are governed by various privacy issues, the agency cannot discuss the circumstances surrounding Abdel-Hafiz’s reinstatement.

Abdel-Hafiz, surprisingly unimbittered against the bureau, is just glad it’s over. “It’s regrettable that it took so long and after all those allegations,” he says, reflecting on the last 19 months, “but at least in the end someone saw the truth.”

Anyone see some obvious problems here?

Bill O'Reilly certainly doesn't he was talking over his guests swearing that some push pole swore that 90% of the people want gun registration.

I used to watch O'Reilly nightly because he was the only voice of some reason.

Haven't watched him lately.

>>so we know who has what,

Why? There are 200M guns in the hands of 90M Americans. The cops already treat every traffic stop as if the driver has a gun, so what would change? Do you intend for the cop to check the plate, run the owner and check the database and then, if he is a gun owner, just shoot him through the back window for “officer safety”?

In a nation where there is a 50% chance that any man you encounter owns a gun, a registry is pointless. Just assume they all do and deport the people on the terrorist watch list, treat the crazy people, and lock up criminals.
