BBC World News Presenter, Katty Kay, offers her insight on comparisons between Brexit and Donald Trump: …This week, polls suggest, Britain may pull out of the European Union. Opinion polls currently have the 23 June referendum too close to call but the Brexit camp (those in favour of the UK splitting from the EU) has been inching ahead in recent weeks. Later this year, Americans will decide whether to elect Donald Trump as the 45th US President, or Hillary Clinton.

It is very likely that there will be another big event (on the level of the murdered MP) to stop Brexit. The kitchen sink has yet to be thrown in by the elite masters.

I believe that Brexit is possible, but unlikely. It simply cannot be allowed. If REMAIN wins, the rulers will not allow another shot at leaving in our lifetimes.

Leaving may boost Trump, but a stay vote, IMO, is not going to affect his chances one way or the other.

Oh, I suspect the Brexit will pass, but the powers-that-be will slow-roll the process, and arrange for a hideously expensive “severance” payment that they’ll threaten to assess directly to Britons. . .

Nothing is going to happen, other than for this vote. Got to remember that during the period of the war in Northern Ireland, there were MP’s who were murdered.

It will be interesting how this will go about.

Brussels will commit fraud to keep the UK in the EU - as they did in the Austria vote for a candidate that wanted to leave.

I see this as the start of the end of the EU,no more countries will come in and the ones there in now, will consider leaving.

I have a feeling this Brexit vote will foreshadow our election a little. It’s really like this, the people are awake or they are not. We will see. There is no excuse for not knowing what side you are on at this point.

Brussels will commit fraud to keep the UK in the EU - as they did in the Austria vote for a candidate that wanted to leave.

Don't claim to understand the complexity of E.U politics but I wonder the effect of the U.K not being as Maastricht treaty participant has on this.

Is it that the rest of europe wants access to the markets and resources London offers? Its not the food.

Just seems to me since they aren't part of already messed up banking system. The UK leaving the EU is a non event.

It further seems to me a nice distraction as the rest of the E.U tries to figure out how to keep the euro alive. Greece and Germany on the same currency while Merkel importing desert Nazis can you imagine the average German worker paying for this crap?

Anyhow the Euro is gone very soon I'm suprised it lasted as long as it did.

For those in the know please feel free to educate me why this Brexit thing really matters or not

The vote is like a suggestion by the people for politicians to consider. I hear there is zero force of law behind it to have any pull out from Europia!

Brexit has NO chance to prevail. If voting mattered, they wouldn’t let them do it.

This week, polls suggest, Britain may pull out of the European Union.

Those polls show that Britishers may vote to advise Parliament to pull out of the EU, advice that is not likely to be followed.

Like California back when voting "NO" on gay marriage.. and then having the people's will and vote overturned by a Federal judge.

I expect the same outcome in England regarding Brexit.

I believe the biggest problem any nation leaving the EU from the vantage point of Brussels
is that it shows it can be done and many would follow.

If they commit fraud to keep them there, as they have previously, it marks the end of the UK.

If the UK leaves, it will begin the destruction of much of the EU, as others leave also.

They cannot abide by this.
