An FBI veteran has been named to head the U.S. Border Patrol, bringing in an outsider to run an agency traditionally led by agents who rise through the ranks.

Mark Morgan, who briefly led the internal affairs department at the Border Patrol’s parent agency, has been chosen to oversee a multibillion-dollar annual budget and about 20,000 agents who patrol the nation’s land borders with Canada and Mexico and its maritime boundaries. …

There’s only one leader of the Border Patrol. Her name is Valerie.

In 2014, Kerlikowske tapped Morgan to help review complaints of excessive force and misconduct by Customs and Border Protection employees.

Sounds like his focus will be on sensitivity training for Border Patrol officers.

From the same FBI who gave us Orlando, Ft. Hood, 9/11, Boston Bombing, Navy Yard, Recruiters, etc.

President Trump is going to have a lot of firings.

Echo chamber journalist headline. Sheesh!

Why even waste a payroll of 20,000 border control staffers who's stated objective is to not control the borders?

It would be like employing 20,000 coast guard officers without boats, planes, or helicopters...............Why even pretend?

Good to see the Donald having an effect on the echo chamber though!

All outsiders belong to our insiders in the Obama Administration.

The BP Agents on the line are working hard andin a very dangerous environment.

They despise the administration and all DC-types, too include BP senior leaders that lost their balls and work in DC.

My son, as a BP Agent, has been hurt on the line, even shot a drug smuggler that tried to kill him.

They have the tools to do their job, they just need support and leadership.

I would then conclude that being a BP officer has you in a crossfire position by default.

20,000 poor Serpico's.

Prayers for your son's safety. I would suggest he laminate free pre-completed voter registration and SNAP benefits applications to his front and back. Of course with the democrat box checked to be safe.

This isn’t the first time obama has brought the FBI into the Immigration agency; he also had John Morton in charge of ICE, and he turned out a real disaster and earned the contempt of all ICE employees. Most preferred to pronounce his surname without the “t”. Sadly, under obama, the FBI has lost all of its luster and is little more than his official government SEIU gaggle, along with the obama IRS, the obama EPA, the obama BLM, the obama ...and on and on.

I hope he stages the firings like the TV show. One session a week, naming names and firings. Then the lucky scumbags are filmed being immediately escorted from their office by police, prior to or as the names are released.

Can’t remember the city, but some police chief in a large city was replaced recently by an Internal Affairs specialist following a shooting (?) and diversity complaints of some kind.

I’m sure the Border Patrol rank-and-file will accept this personnel administration specialist with the same enthusiasm the police there met their new Nanny.

“I hope he stages the firings like the TV show.”

That would be great! Perhaps government employees would take their accountability a bit more seriously.

An FBI veteran was selected to lead the Alaska Department of Corrections. It’s been a complete disaster.
