It is quite possible this is a Roger Stone-style firing.

We know that Trump operates on a trust basis with his team and, having spent almost everyday for a year with Corey, they surely have a strong, trust-based relationship.

Knowing how Trump operates, Lewandowski might be tasked with going outside campaign to sniff out what the #nevertrump crowd are planning for the convention.

On the other hand, it is possible, I guess, that Corey's usefulness had expired right before the convention.

Rollins has been a guest on several shows. Wonder why he is not involved officially.

‘Lol...too late for what, winning the nomination?

LOL. No. Getting a national campaign in gear. Trump’s campaign has been losing the past 2 weeks. Obviously, he sees this fact.

CL has been a ball and chain for many months. This move comes way too late. Though many here at FR will find some sort of “genius” in this move. [sigh]

One might imagine that DJT has never sought high office before. We need a professional politician who can work across the aisles and never make a "mistake".

Rollins, who is 73, is part of the pro-Trump PAC ‘Great America’. Roger Stone has called Rollins a buffoon.

Trump is running the campaign and the trouble that comes to it is Trump's doing.

I, for one, think things are working out just fine.

The only negative thing going on for the campaign is what Ryan and Romney are doing.

Do we know if Lewandowski is still with Trump in some capacity? I’d be surprised if Trump didn’t offer him something, loyalty to his people seems to be part of his nature.

Lewandowski was surely overmatched by the what a major national campaign requires at this stage. Manafort has been through this before and Trump is a Best Practices guy who succeeds by finding the best talent that he can.

Lewandowski has always been on the side of “let Trump be Trump.” That got him in trouble last time.

Manafort is on the side of a disciplined, traditional presentation.

My sense is that the universal hatred expressed toward Trump by ALL sides demonstrates conclusively that Trump truly is and always has been the only non-establishment, outsider candidate.

He scares the bejeebers out of the establishment.

The vote this fall is between the corrupt establishment of enriched politicians and crony leeches OR Donald Trump, the outsider.

That is what appears actually to be the case, and that is what I think is the winning background understanding that America MUST see.

Actually I have watched Varney quite a bit in the last year and I think he is for Trump.

Moderate regular exercise such as daily walking helps reduce needless stress.

There were reports there was infighting with Manafort, but I had heard that Lewandowski was closer to Trump. I wonder if the poll numbers have something to do with it.

This was a brilliant move on Trump’s part.

Yeah, my understanding is they both had different philosophies that were at odds with each other, one being that Manafort preferred to run a more traditional campaign.

They had to separate Corey and Paul to the point that they were running the campaign on two different floors. Corey isn’t responsible for poll numbers, that’s all Trump.

I agree, but over the last few of weeks, he's been condemning Trump for everything and basically calling him a moron. Varney must have gotten his marching orders from above.
