I’ve seen that in NYC when I was younger. But it was the exception, not the rule.
The cops getting out of control, that was the rule :)

Exactly. Armed security with a rifle on site. Hell, even a 10/22 or frangible ammo. I can pop him in the eye at a 100 yds with a .22 LR and the show's over.
I remember video of the Mumbai attack that showed Indian law enforcement or military armed with bolt action Enfields, probably .308 cowering behind pillars with the terrorists within 50 yds.

Armed club-goers? Mixed feelings about this as alcohol and firepower can be a dangerous blend. Perhaps, if the ‘designated driver’ is also the ‘designated carrier’?
