I may not like Iran. But, they have every right to do this if they want to as a sovereign albeit unpleasant nation.

Since they have no refueling stations or permanent bases there I doubt they can maintain much of a presence in the Atlantic.What are they going to do, send a ship through Suez and then the Mediterranean and out into the Atlantic sail around three or four days and then go back through the Mediterranean , the Suez canal and to Hormuz for fuel and supplies? I guess that they could negotiate with Algeria or Libya for a base but I get the impression that they are not liked by a lot of other Islamic countries.
