California passed a $122 billion dollar budget. Ours roads are like washboards but nothing will be fixed as most of the money goes to pensions and illegals and a train.

France obviously needs more illegal Mexican immigrants.

Everybody beats the French. Even the Mexicans celebrate Stinko De Mayo and their defeat of the French.

Yes, but imagine what California could be with decent leadership.
What a modern day tragedy California is.

Correct me if I am wrong, but no individual state’s economy can truly be considered standalone. It operates under and with the outside funding of the other 49 states’ taxpayer monies. We’re all just one big happy family, right?

France must be falling pretty sharply....
California is “churning” a lot of money, but actual production, in terms of energy, agriculture, or infrastructure restoration and expansion, they are in a quagmire.
Their biggest industries are as a port of entry for Chinese products and sale of real estate to Chinese entrepreneurs. Both trends speak more of stagnation than growth for California.

You are exactly right. Take away all their federal support and see what CA does. The western states and the NE states get most of the federal contracts, not to mention the handouts to the progressive welfare leeches.

This is a rather meaningless designation as California rolls up into the United States in terms of measuring world economies.
It would be like saying that Anheuser-Busch is the world's largest beer company with Budweiser by itself being among the top 10 largest beer companies. It's redundant because Budweiser is already included with Anheuser-Busch.
Using the same logic, we could group together London, New York and Tokyo and call them collectively the world's largest city.

France exists within the European Union.
The measure in question is of production of goods and services.
The comparison is therefore valid
A good question to ask would be what is the amount of goods and services in France produced by California companies and vice versa.
My gut feeling is that california produces more in France than France produces in California.
