Don't knock the high velocity .223/5.56 round.
It's designed to pierce then tumble, creating major internal organ damage. Plus the recoil is minimal.

According to the fat dipstick Michael Moore, the .223/5.56 is banned by the Geneva Convention because it enters the body and explodes!!
I thought, how cool is that? I can go to WalMart and buy ammo that is banned by the Geneva Convention.
