How Uncle Sam Became Uncle Tyrant -- If Washington Wants To 'Get' You, It Now Can
Forbes ^ | Jun 1, 2016 | Steve Forbes

OUR FOUNDING FATHERS understood that tyranny wasn’t likely to come from a foreign invasion but from the step-by-step erosion of our freedoms by an expanding government. This is what we are facing today....

...ominous trends threaten us...

...the typical professional in this country unknowingly commits several federal crimes during a typical workday.

If Uncle Sam wants to get you, he can.

– An 11-year-old girl in Virginia, who saved a woodpecker from a cat, was hit with a fine for “transporting” a protected species.

– A fisherman who threw back some undersize fish he had caught was hauled into court and convicted of violating the antishredding clause of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act...

– A Maryland developer, James Wilson, was prosecuted and sentenced to prison for violating the Clean Water Act, when he improved a piece of land the Army Corps of Engineers claimed as “navigable water,” even though the nearest river was six miles away...

– An outdoorsman named Tom Lindsey and several others began rafting down Idaho’s Snake River at 7 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. and used gas stoves for cooking at their campsite. The feds hit Lindsey with several indictments...

– An Alaskan fisherman sold ten otters to a person he thought was an Alaska Native. Selling otters to non-Alaska Natives is a felony, and the fisherman, who was hardly rich, pleaded guilty to a felony.

– A chief engineer at a retirement home diverted backed-up sewage to a storm drain. Unbeknownst to him, the drain wasn’t connected to the city’s sewage system but to a stream that emptied into the Potomac River, a “protected” waterway. Result: a felony conviction and probation.

Bureaucrats and prosecutors love this criminalization binge...

...reform enjoys widespread support in the House, it’s meeting stiff resistance among several Senate Republicans...

Someone “in the know” please refresh my memory - wasn’t it Ayn Rand who wrote that, ultimately, everyone will be a lawbreaker or something of that nature?

Ayn Rand, novel "Atlas Shrugged":

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

I think this is the quote you're looking for:

There are literally 22 definitions of the HOA acronym.

Can we assume this is Homeowners Association.?

“most Americans don’t have pockets deep enough to take on the federal government”

That’s what guns are for.

Like Reagan said - a government that is big and powerful enough to give you everything you need is also big and powerful enough to take everything you have....including your life.

How they know about these “animal” situations? Fang has
shot literally hundreds of “cute” little squirrels for
stealing the pears off his pear trees. If he hadn’t, they’d
have taken over the world by now! - The buzzards out here
appreciate him because they get SO tired of cleaning up
roadkill. I appreciate our buzzards; they have a dirty job,
but don’t complain. - I was walking one day up the road &
a dead buzzard was on the side of the road. His buddies were
all perched around & seemed to be saying, “We don’t want to
do THIS particular job. “Buzz” was our friend & we just
can’t!” So, I took a stick & moved him into the ditch. His
buddies seemed to tell me, “Thank you!”

Yeah, let’s elect the BITCH. That’ll make it all better!

You folks on the fence had better get the hell off!!!

If, God forbid, the Hildabeast wins, it will be because the stupid bastards out there who voted for her – and obozo in 2008 – are beyond salvation and, ergo, AMERICA — the IDEA — is DEAD and our slow descent into the dustbin of history has reached its destination.

Ya’ know, as I wrote that, a thought again crossed my alleged mind that often nagged me during the 40+ years I’ve spent away from making a living, enjoying my family, boating, going to the beach, etc.:  Are these stupid bastards who waved their hand dismissively and smirked when I tried to tell them that we’d wind up in a very bad place if we didn’t pay more attention to our civic affairs WORTH THE EFFORT?

But I always came back to the reality that I was — and my dozens of like-minded friends were — doing this for OUR loved ones.  If we succeeded and millions of the  disconnected, uninvolved bastards who hadn’t lifted a hand or, worse, were, themselves, part of the problem, were dragged along, so be it.

Let me conclude this with two quotes and a short video I made.

“A nation of well-informed men, who have been taught to know and to prize the rights God has given them, cannot be enslaved.  IT IS IN THE REGION OF IGNORANCE THAT TYRANNY BEGINS.”  Benjamin Franklin

“As life is action and passion, it is required of a man that he be involved in the action and passion of his time LEST HE BE JUDGED NEVER TO HAVE LIVED”.  Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

And the foolish little video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIo8FJJMps8
(There were audible guffaws from the audience around 1:31.  They didn’t believe Newt either.)

PS: I’m pretty sure that Trump locked this thing up on 6/12 and believe that one or two more Orlandos will render the coup-de-grace to the Hildabeast.

BETTER WAKE UP THE FOLKS AROUND YOU BEFORE NOVEMBER. Or TRY!

“and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
The Declaration of Independence

Mr. Jefferson laid out the reasons for Trump’s rise: The hundreds of present day “evils” are no longer sufferable!
One of the most insufferable to thinking American citizens is the current illegal, intentional flooding of this nation with those of an alien culture and ersatz “religion” called islam.

If you’re STILL unclear as to the intentions of the “leaders” of islam or don’t understand the EXISTENTIAL threat we face,  this 3 1/2 minute video should remove all uncertainty.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JJeVLTGYX8

Unlike the citizens of Europe (who have probably waited too long to resist)  if you pass this along, we might perhaps halt this invasion before we are forced into the streets in potentially violent protests.  American media is not covering it, but civil wars are brewing in Europe as you read this!

If they fail, the Europe America aided in 2 world wars is gone!

AND SO ARE WE!

And the reason is we have 200 million idiots who support the federal government in protecting Mommy Earth, and find all the above examples “reasonable” actions.

We lost the fight long ago when radicals took over the teaching profession. Now it’s only a matter of time. All great nations and empires go through life stages, ending in debauchery and collapse. We will too.

I only feel sorry for what my kids will go through.

This needed a smack on the wrist.

The rest is nonsense.
