California's new motor voter law could add 2 million registered voters in its first year,

A new study from the Public Policy Institute of California estimates that, if executed successfully, the state's new motor voter law could add more than 2 million new voters to the rolls in its first year of implementation.

The new law, slated to take effect next year, is supposed to streamline the way citizens register to vote at Department of Motor Vehicles offices. Once fully implemented, drivers applying for or renewing licenses and completing other DMV transactions will have their information electronically transmitted to the secretary of State, as long as they've confirmed they're eligible to vote and don't opt out of registering.

Of course being registered and actually voting are two different things so maybe the state will simply tell the newly registered votes that if they are too busy to get to the polls, the state will make the votes for them to save them time and travel expenses. It'll be fine. Trust us to do the right thing.

Next step: Proof of having voted in the most recent election will be required to apply for student aid or public assistance programs. Bank on it.

Do you mean “proof of voting ‘correctly’ in the most recent (s)elections”...

Having a drivers license and being a US citizen are two different things. Obviously this was done so that the illegals with drivers licenses will be able to vote.

Get them to the polls, even high or drunk, and at least 80% will vote Democrat.

No matter which way you cut it, it means 2 million more Democrat voters. (and lots and lots of Electoral College votes)

IMHO

And 1,999,990 won’t speak English. We won’t know if the other 10 speak English because they’re dead.

And exactly who checks on their confirmation that they are eligible to vote? (crickets)

2 million, a few of which will be legally qualified to vote.

Pretty soon Californians will be automatically recorded as voting straight democrat unless they actually dare to show up to vote otherwise. Just wait.

Yes. And it started in the 90’s with the first motor-voter laws being applied in California......during the Clinton Admin, of course. We had a Republican Governor and many Republican legislators, national and state. After motor-voter, the Dems took over California and it has been on the downhill slide ever since. Motor-voter is the way the Dems will destroy this once great nation, with all the illegal immigrants always voting Dem to get more ‘free’ (to them) stuff.

Of course illegal aliens are allowed to vote, don’t need no steekin’ drivers license.

Usually a utility bill or something like that showing a US address is all it takes. Bad news that the courts don't allow something more significant to be required...like a birth certificate or naturalization document.

California is a lowest shi! State in the Union. It is totally lost and never will be anything but Little Mexico. It is drowning in illegals and the noise is unbearable. Voting is a joke and pure rat faced Democrats.

“Obviously this was done so that the illegals with drivers licenses will be able to vote.”

They already do, and were a big factor in Loretta Sanchez beating Bob Dornan.

But this will make it easier and more widespread. May help Sanchez win the Senate race, giving the Hollywood Left and La Raza their own sock puppet.

Just another step in the democrat plan to become the only viable political party.

In years to come watch for a big push to eliminate the election of presidents by state Electoral College and change it to total national popular vote.

A mega-state like California loaded with illegals and ultra leftists would negate the voting power of a whole string of less urban “Red” states.
