West Hartford, CT — A 71-year-old West Hartford man was arrested after making a homophobic slur to a Home Depot cashier and referencing the Orlando, Florida, nightclub shooting on Wednesday, according to police.

West Hartford Police responded to the Home Depot on New Park Avenue around 11:30 a.m. to speak with an employee regarding a report of a hostile customer.

The employee told police he was talking to the customer about why he was wearing gloves at the register before it “quickly evolved into a harassing discussion about the employee's sexuality,” according to the police report.

The employee told police that the customer called him a “faggot” and referenced the Orlando, Florida, nightclub shooting. The comments were overheard by another employee, police said.

This is why I won’t go in a Home Depot. The staff is all reporters. 15 years ago a home depot staffer at home depot submitted to almighty govt and gave out our name and address to a dcf worker just because one of our kids climbed up the shelving in one of the aisles.
Became a huge headache.

One time I went there and asked an employee about a particular tool, he told me he will find it and come right back. 5 minutes went by, 10 minutes went by, finally I said screw this, and found it myself. When I was leaving, I found that guy in the parking lot collecting carts.

Don’t forget that all the John Deere, Husquavarna, Cub, etc. riding mowers sold there are licensed and built by MTD, not the brand company being represented on the mower.

“Interesting, Lowe’s is always good to me and they give me my Military discount no problem even out of state, Home Depot always argues so much about my ID that it’s a pain and a waste of time.”

Also, Home Depot excludes building materials (of all things) from the military discount. Lowe’s does not...

I never buy a package at any store that was previously opened and I inspect them carefully.

They assume that sooner or later someone will be too lazy to bring the item back, or will jury-rig it.

When I se two or more check out clerks talking, the conversation is always...always about when they get off work or when their next break is. Always

Come to the one by me. There’s one guy there who works in Electrical. He’s been there for over 20 years. He’s friendly, knows his stuff and an great ambassador for Home Depot. He also happens to be black.

The Spaniard who works in paint is great, friendly, talkative and helpful.

The cashiers are usually pretty friendly and quick. There’s an old guy who works in plumbing who actually stayed after close to help me with a weird problem and the millwork guys are always available to cut lumber, although you can tell they put the new guys there. Sometime I measure and mark for them.

“The faucets and fixtures at big box are NOT the same quality even though they can look exactly the same. Same manufacturer, same part number DIFFERENT quality. The latest Free Traitor™ trick con job.”

Tell me more... I’m about ready to buy plumbing fixtures and related parts.

My Home Depot is great - the only problem is finding someone on the floor who is not otherwise engaged. Once you do, they’re helpful and friendly; and I’ve noticed that you never have to stand in line very long in my HD.

Of course.

He lives in a PC world where opinions can not be expressed and his state is no longer America in nature. The tyranny of the left has replaced America

According to the article the man did leave, the clerk took his license plate down and the police tracked him down and arrested him for breach of peace and intimidation by bigotry.
